#LFW RUNWAY RECAP SS16 | MM6 Maison Margiela, Versus Versace

What with London Fashion Week and the Rugby World Cup coinciding, I've been off form with my LFW updates. So today and tomorrow I'll be posting "Runway Recaps" of some of my favourite collections showcased over the past few days.

Kicking it off we have SS16 collections from Maison Margiela and Versus Versace.

MM6 MAISON MARGIELA
If there's one fashion house you can always rely on taking classic pieces and putting insanity-induced-spins on them...its Maison Margiela. The entire collection was rough with a street edge. The accessories were centric to the collection and introduced a sense of femininity to Margiela's notorious long-line baggy shape. Showing off sequin tights paired with chunky-flatforms, see through handbags and sequinned scarves. Margiela also took feminine dresses, twisting the classic concept by using bin-bag material [obvs]. I absolutely loved the pink metallic injection to an otherwise dark spring/summer collection.
I'm not nearly cool enough/nor ever in a position where I need to wear a bum-bag as a top to ever rock this collection but I really appreciate a unique twist on fashion week, when nowadays collections are merging into one another more and more.

VERSUS VERSACE
It's absolutely no secret that Versace is one of-if not my favourite fashion house. It's all about fierce woman, dressed to kill [literally].
It's safe the say that the collection is my favourite of SS16 that I've seen so far. It was unapologetically fierce. We saw the classic silhouettes that we can always rely on from Versace, but this SS collection dared to implement a more casual vibe into Versus. With an injection of floral print and denim, as well as bomber jackets; this collection definitely had a street-style feel to it and I'm not complaining. Sticking to mainly monochrome colour palettes with the exception of deep greens and earthy blues/purples for the printed florals, Versus ditched the classic gold metal and switched it up for a more understated silver.

Head back to my blog tomorrow evening to see my Runway Recap of Topshop Unique, Burberry and more.

RIP Spring/Summer, thank the lord.
I'm 90% sure there's no one on this planet happier than me to be back in trews, roll necks and leather. My personal style has recently undergone a massive transformation and I feel like AW15 is going to be the perfect platform to debut it. I absolutely love the trends for this upcoming season and I think it's going to be really interesting to see how people style the key pieces. Here's to AW15!

#NYFW | ALEXANDER WANG SS16

It's 10 years of Alexander Wang and his Spring/Summer 2016 collection of course, did not disappoint.

Last night's collection was quintessentially Wang, with the hottest front row guests including Zoe Kravitz, Miguel, The Weeknd and Bella Hadid as well as the killer after party.

Compared to Wang AW15, the collection was a lot more laid back and much less fierce. It had that throw on and go feel, layering mis-matched pieces from mesh vests beneath leather and distressed denim. Maintaining his iconic sports-luxe vibe, baseball caps and bomber jackets remain with the addition of hoodies and chain-platform-sandals. The pieces were often keeping the popular-long line cut while crop-tops and low rise trousers are making a comeback. The colour palette stayed true to Wang remaining mainly monochrome with khaki, brown, navy and a pop of pastel blue to lighten the SS collection. The attention to detail with metal accessories such as chain earings as well as the variation of textures and lengths kept the collection fresh. Regardless the season Alexander maintains that urban, streetwear vibe but consistently re-vamps it with a different vibe. Both his AW15 and SS16 being miles apart in concept.

THE ONE BEFORE THE WORLD CUP | TWICKENHAM 05.08.2015

You guys know by now that I am a huge rugby fan! Last weekend I went to the Olympic Stadium to see the Barbarian's VS Samoa [post here] and this weekend was all about Twickenham.

On the way into the game, I managed to say hi to Jack Nowell and Henry Slade as well as see old-pro Simon Shaw being interviewed. There were so many opportunities to get pictures with players [even in the Blue Room...keep reading] but I feel like rugby players are just normal guys and I felt more as if I was talking to a friend than being a "fan" if that makes any sense. I've grown up around rugby players and I've always found talking to them on a level rather than shoving an iPhone in their face is a better approach.

Obviously, with it being the last warm up game before the 2015 Rugby World Cup, I had to nab a seat at Twickers [Twickenham Stadium]. Initially I was a little bit worried about our seat placement, but it turned out to be a great position. I always think it's a strange vibe watching any sports event live, but there's always an incredible atmosphere at Twickenham and with almost full capacity Saturday was no different. After England's dismal efforts in Paris, there was a lot riding on this game to give the fans the confidence that we might actually have a chance in the world cup and to get the boys in the right mind set. England came out strong, what with Jonny May and Anthony Watson [my main man] nailing tries straight away and we maintained that punch for the first half. Second half, Ireland came out strong as expected after a pretty poor first half and it was obvious England were tiring. Either way, we secured a 21-13 win over Ireland, leaving both the players, the coaching team and the fans a little more confident for the RWC that starts in just 10 days.

The O2 Blue Room was so much fun [thanks O2]. We went in before the game for a free drink and to watch Vernon Kay run different mini-competitions, then headed there afterwards for the post-game chat. I was beyond happy when Ben Youngs, Jamie George and Anthony Watson came out. It then went to the floor for a Q&A which was equally interesting to hear fans questions and the guys responses. It was filmed, so when it goes live I'll whack it up!

All in all I had an amazing day at Twickenham as always. Shout-out to O2 and all that's left to say is BRING ON THE WORLD CUP!!!

HAUL | ASOS, TOPSHOP, PRIMARK & H&M

Autumn/Winter is on the horizon [thank tha lawd] and if that's not an excuse to go out and buy new clothes, I don't know what is. I will confess this splurge did happen over the course of 2 days, which is a little excessive but hey, shit happens.

TOPSHOP Faux Fur Gilet - £65 - buy here
I'm gunna buck the trend and start with the piece de resistance.
I can swoon over faux fur gilets all I want for A/W but realistically when British winters mainly consist of rain they aren't the most practical of pieces to have in your closet [unless you can rock the drowned cat look]. However...there was no damn way I was walking away without this gilet. You guys know I am a black, maybe white, khaki at a push colour pallet kind of gal but I am literally obsessed with the colours of this piece. It breaks up an all black outfit which we all know is my second skin, it's warm and a statement element. What more could you ask for?

TOPSHOP wide leg cropped trousers - £30 - buy here
I've wanted a pair of culottes for ages now. All the coolest kids have been rockin' them forever but considering I have a fat ass/hips for days/let's not get started on my thighs I've been a little hesitant. However, these wide leg-high waist-cropped numbers from Tops are the answer. They're the perfect cinch in at the waist, flattering pants. I'm kind of sick of jeans [yup, we never thought we'd hear the day] and I want to implement for a tailored/clean vibe to my wardrobe, so these are kind of a staple piece in my wardrobe right now.

ASOS RELISH cut out boots - £45 - buy here
Let's be real, shoe-gasms' are a thing and these are the main reason for them. I've recently rekindled my love for ASOS and these bad boys seem to be the main reason. I've been after the perfect pair of pointed toe boots that don't make my legs look huge [girls, we all know it's a real problem] and it seemed ACNE was the only answer. Enter ASOS. They're my obsession and I didn't take them off for the first three days after they arrived. Soz not soz.

TOPSHOP denim shorts - £10.00 [sale] - *found in store*
I saw Kylie Jenner in these [here] and when I saw these in Tops Ox Street I decided despite lacking KJ's insane bod I'd try them. Honestly, long denim shorts are the way forward. I have real bad cellulite at the top of my thighs and I'm not a booty-hanging-out-shorts kind of girl, so denim shorts rarely ever feature in my wardrobe. These are literally a life changer. They cover all the areas I don't want on show, they're high waisted and just so damn practical for real life. Also, I took them to the till thinking they were £30 and they'd gone down to £10, bonus.

ASOS longline split front cami - £8.00 [sale] - buy here
I saw Sammi [BeautyCrush] feature this split front cami, either in a haul or a look book and couldn't resist. Luckily by the time I went to buy it, it'd gone down in the sale and has now gone down even further if you lucky people wanna get your paws on it. It's a great piece to add different lengths into a look, as well as detail with the split front. It's also an ace piece to have to transition from day to night [my next post will feature it styled].

NIKE JUVENATE - £72 - buy here
I won't lie, these are my first pair of NIKES and there's a reason behind it. I'm a big admirer or kicks, in-fact I spent most of my sixteenth year of life stressing out because I couldn't afford a pair of Jordans. I think girls in sports clothing [of any kind] is the coolest and let's be real, it's comfortable. I'm forever shoving my feet into uncomfortable shoes in the name of fashion but now I've got these babies to run and leap while I shop and also for when I haul my fat ass to the gym.

TOPSHOP ribbed cut out crop top - £18 - buy here
Not gunna write an essay for this one. Simple black crop-top, great to pair with high waist stuff during the day, transitional for night outs and a lil bit different with the cut out detail.

TOPSHOP crop striped green tee - £20 - *can't find it online, sorry!*
Least flattering pic evz and sorry my boobs are right there in your face. Again, there's not much to say about this top. I'm loving all shades of green at the mo and I saw this on Lou Teasdale and she just looked really cool so I was sold.

TOPSHOP knitted tank - £14 - buy here
Another basic to throw on and go!

ASOS Alice Ankle Boot - £14.00 [sale] - buy here
Yassssss another pair of shoes. The justification for these is that I work in fashion so I'm always on my feet, running around doing stuff and I needed something cool but comfy. Enter these shoes, the platform gives me a lil bit of heigh, the buckles add that grunge vibe we know I love but at the heart these are just comfy and for £14 you can't argue really.

 H&M Selfridges - £39.99 - buy here
I'm not an enormous H&M ambassador considering you have to size up at least 4 times to even get your arm into one of their pieces but as soon as I saw this suede shirt I let it all go. It looks great buttoned up, unbuttoned, with a skirt, as a shirt-dress, it's not black and it's the softest shirt ever...that pretty much covers it!

PRIMARK - £10.00 - *instore*
You guys lit have no idea how long I've wanted this bag and now it's finally mine. I am the worst human for shoving things in my pocket, I'm talking bank card, phone, money shoved in various pockets on my body. I hate carrying big bags and small bags annoy me because I can't fit all my snacks in there [I didn't even write that for humorous purposes, I need room for my snacks]. This bag is the perfect size, I can sling it over my shoulder and continue on my way.

I hope you enjoyed this haul guys, I wanted to make it more chatty as my OOTD posts have become less conversational and more minimalistic. I'm super glad to be back, I've got some really exciting posts coming your way. Thanks for sticking around.
See ya on Friday.

THE OLYMPIC STADIUM | 28.8.2015

[Bomber Jacket : TOPMAN | Black Crop Vest : H&M | Bra - URBAN OUTFITTERS | Jamie Jeans - TOPSHOP | Kicks - NIKE]

On Saturday 28th August I had an experience I'll never, ever forget.

There's no denying I am a huge sports fan. You name it, I'll watch it, play it, know the rules. I practically grew up on the side lines of Richmond Rugby Club's pitch, I spent a lot of my childhood playing numerous different sports for a million different clubs and as I got older my passion for sport hasn't changed. As I've grown up, I've definitely become frustrated at myself that I didn't stick at anything but sport is something that comes naturally to me but just because I don't take part doesn't mean I don't watch it religiously.

Baring that in mind, as well as the fact Stratford is my patch - it's kinda crazy to think I've never set foot inside the Olympic Stadium.
