R.I.P SS15 [THANK THE LORD]

RIP Spring/Summer, thank the lord.
I'm 90% sure there's no one on this planet happier than me to be back in trews, roll necks and leather. My personal style has recently undergone a massive transformation and I feel like AW15 is going to be the perfect platform to debut it. I absolutely love the trends for this upcoming season and I think it's going to be really interesting to see how people style the key pieces. Here's to AW15!

HAUL | ASOS, TOPSHOP, PRIMARK & H&M

Autumn/Winter is on the horizon [thank tha lawd] and if that's not an excuse to go out and buy new clothes, I don't know what is. I will confess this splurge did happen over the course of 2 days, which is a little excessive but hey, shit happens.

TOPSHOP Faux Fur Gilet - £65 - buy here
I'm gunna buck the trend and start with the piece de resistance.
I can swoon over faux fur gilets all I want for A/W but realistically when British winters mainly consist of rain they aren't the most practical of pieces to have in your closet [unless you can rock the drowned cat look]. However...there was no damn way I was walking away without this gilet. You guys know I am a black, maybe white, khaki at a push colour pallet kind of gal but I am literally obsessed with the colours of this piece. It breaks up an all black outfit which we all know is my second skin, it's warm and a statement element. What more could you ask for?

TOPSHOP wide leg cropped trousers - £30 - buy here
I've wanted a pair of culottes for ages now. All the coolest kids have been rockin' them forever but considering I have a fat ass/hips for days/let's not get started on my thighs I've been a little hesitant. However, these wide leg-high waist-cropped numbers from Tops are the answer. They're the perfect cinch in at the waist, flattering pants. I'm kind of sick of jeans [yup, we never thought we'd hear the day] and I want to implement for a tailored/clean vibe to my wardrobe, so these are kind of a staple piece in my wardrobe right now.

ASOS RELISH cut out boots - £45 - buy here
Let's be real, shoe-gasms' are a thing and these are the main reason for them. I've recently rekindled my love for ASOS and these bad boys seem to be the main reason. I've been after the perfect pair of pointed toe boots that don't make my legs look huge [girls, we all know it's a real problem] and it seemed ACNE was the only answer. Enter ASOS. They're my obsession and I didn't take them off for the first three days after they arrived. Soz not soz.

TOPSHOP denim shorts - £10.00 [sale] - *found in store*
I saw Kylie Jenner in these [here] and when I saw these in Tops Ox Street I decided despite lacking KJ's insane bod I'd try them. Honestly, long denim shorts are the way forward. I have real bad cellulite at the top of my thighs and I'm not a booty-hanging-out-shorts kind of girl, so denim shorts rarely ever feature in my wardrobe. These are literally a life changer. They cover all the areas I don't want on show, they're high waisted and just so damn practical for real life. Also, I took them to the till thinking they were £30 and they'd gone down to £10, bonus.

ASOS longline split front cami - £8.00 [sale] - buy here
I saw Sammi [BeautyCrush] feature this split front cami, either in a haul or a look book and couldn't resist. Luckily by the time I went to buy it, it'd gone down in the sale and has now gone down even further if you lucky people wanna get your paws on it. It's a great piece to add different lengths into a look, as well as detail with the split front. It's also an ace piece to have to transition from day to night [my next post will feature it styled].

NIKE JUVENATE - £72 - buy here
I won't lie, these are my first pair of NIKES and there's a reason behind it. I'm a big admirer or kicks, in-fact I spent most of my sixteenth year of life stressing out because I couldn't afford a pair of Jordans. I think girls in sports clothing [of any kind] is the coolest and let's be real, it's comfortable. I'm forever shoving my feet into uncomfortable shoes in the name of fashion but now I've got these babies to run and leap while I shop and also for when I haul my fat ass to the gym.

TOPSHOP ribbed cut out crop top - £18 - buy here
Not gunna write an essay for this one. Simple black crop-top, great to pair with high waist stuff during the day, transitional for night outs and a lil bit different with the cut out detail.

TOPSHOP crop striped green tee - £20 - *can't find it online, sorry!*
Least flattering pic evz and sorry my boobs are right there in your face. Again, there's not much to say about this top. I'm loving all shades of green at the mo and I saw this on Lou Teasdale and she just looked really cool so I was sold.

TOPSHOP knitted tank - £14 - buy here
Another basic to throw on and go!

ASOS Alice Ankle Boot - £14.00 [sale] - buy here
Yassssss another pair of shoes. The justification for these is that I work in fashion so I'm always on my feet, running around doing stuff and I needed something cool but comfy. Enter these shoes, the platform gives me a lil bit of heigh, the buckles add that grunge vibe we know I love but at the heart these are just comfy and for £14 you can't argue really.

 H&M Selfridges - £39.99 - buy here
I'm not an enormous H&M ambassador considering you have to size up at least 4 times to even get your arm into one of their pieces but as soon as I saw this suede shirt I let it all go. It looks great buttoned up, unbuttoned, with a skirt, as a shirt-dress, it's not black and it's the softest shirt ever...that pretty much covers it!

PRIMARK - £10.00 - *instore*
You guys lit have no idea how long I've wanted this bag and now it's finally mine. I am the worst human for shoving things in my pocket, I'm talking bank card, phone, money shoved in various pockets on my body. I hate carrying big bags and small bags annoy me because I can't fit all my snacks in there [I didn't even write that for humorous purposes, I need room for my snacks]. This bag is the perfect size, I can sling it over my shoulder and continue on my way.

I hope you enjoyed this haul guys, I wanted to make it more chatty as my OOTD posts have become less conversational and more minimalistic. I'm super glad to be back, I've got some really exciting posts coming your way. Thanks for sticking around.
See ya on Friday.

YOU'RE RIPPED AT EVERY EDGE BUT YOU'RE A MASTERPIECE

You all know I tend to go through phases where I find a look & I get obsessed with it. Today's outfit is a perfect example of this.

There are about a million variations of this outfit that I've been rotating [see one here]. Usually centred around my Topshop MOM jeans that I destroyed, it'll either be really minimal as soon in my instagram snap above or slightly more dressed up [yeah a flannel, fedora and jazzy boho chocker is 'dressed up' for me]. I've had this super relaxed flannel in my wardrobe forever and now I'm blonde
[lol jks it's yellow] I've been wearing it non-stop.

The perfect throw on and go Monday look.

Coachella comes to London Town with H&M

Man, I am obsessed with this outfit BUT ironically, considering it was the day of the #SLBloggerBash [post coming soon] I couldn't have been in a less photogenic state. So excuse the awkwardness that translates intensely in these snaps.

Although I'd rather go on Warped Tour than to Coachella, there's something so damn cool about it. The idea of being in a desert, surrounded by palm trees while ACDC rock out [yes, I'm so jealous of anyone that saw them last night] is a world away from life here in London Town.

Today's outfit features a piece from H&M's Coachella collection [you can shop here]. As soon as I saw these flared trousers I knew I had to have them. I've not been a massive lover of flared jeans but these trews are jersey and high waisted, so it's effectively like wearing cool PJ's and being able to eat everything and hide your tummy. Also, being on the taller side, it was pretty rad that these babies were long enough to touch the floor even with a block heel.

HAUL | PRIMARK

Even though I spend the majority of my life buying clothes, I haven't featured a HAUL on TheLenihanLook for a while, so here's all the bits I brought from Primark a couple of days ago.

'Cause I'm lucky enough to work for a pretty rad company [I'm sure you can guess if you think about the brand I wear the most] I seem to only ever wear clothes from their label. I often forget about other brands and always overlook places like Primark for a complete bargain.

MENS | SIZE M | £12.00
I am so obsessed with this sweater and I have no idea why. I've always loved the American varsity look, as if you've stolen your jock-boyfriend's clothes and this jumper fulfils all of that.

WOMENS | SIZE 10 | £5.00 [each]
This S/S I want to take my style back to basics, play with texture and minimalism and I've wanted a light knit crop-top for ages now. For just £5.00 it made sense to snap up the back and white version. Styled with MOM jeans, a maxi skirt or denim shorts - these are such versatile pieces that'll last right through to next autumn.

WOMENS | SCARF | £5.00
I am a sucker for all black outfits and I've been on the hunt for a really simplistic white based scarf to lift the outfit. I practically ran across the store when I spotted this. I was on my own as well so I looked completely insane...good times. I really like the detail of the fringed ends.

WOMENS | BOOTS | £18.00
Ever since I saw Lou Teasdale in some chunky sole heeled boots I've been after the perfect pair. Yes, I know I don't need anymore black boots but it's too late now! I wore these on a night-out last night and they were so damn comfy, it was such a bouncy sole to have on a shoe. They are quite high so if you're a tall gal like me you will be a Green Giant but when your boots are this rad, does it matter, no it does not.

MENS | SIZE M | £5.00
You can never have enough sweaters, especially when the weather is as indecisive as England. I spotted this on a sale pile on the way out and I couldn't believe it was only £5.00. It's a real thick knit and super cosy, plus it's blue and white which is rare of me and jumpers so I nabbed it.

MENS | SIZE L | £3.00
Similar to sweaters, I'm always keeping my eyes out for printed tee's, especially when they're bloody £3.00. I love cutting the sleeves off of 'em and/or wear them around the house or with jeans and a leather jacket. It's a simple go-to look that everyone needs.

There's a TOPSHOP haul on it's way. Have an ace weekend lads and ladies.

BUT THEN AGAIN, THERE'S YOU

It was bright blue skies and reasonably mild today, so maybe I'm getting a little carried away for mid-January but isn't anyone else dreaming of spring/summer?
Realistically, you'll need a big winter coat and tights with this look, but let's just pretend is June for one minute shall we? For some reason lately I am obsessed with contrasting bright blue and black at the moment. I nabbed this blue denim dress last autumn and I cannot wait to wear it all summer long, it's got that perfect tomboyish, 90s vibe that we all know I love. Roll necks are an essential this time of year and let's be real, they're perfect to wear with anything. I was super pumped to finally get a pair of Doc Marten's for crimbo, matte black of course, they're just the ultimate cool shoe right?

WHAT I WORE | BOXING DAY

Is that straight hair you see? Yes, yes it is! Believe me, brushing hair that hasn't been brushed in months isn't fun...at all. But after a day of hanging around in my pj's I wanted to go for something a little more sleek and less boyish than usual for Christmas round two.

I am obsessed with roll necks/turtle necks this AW and this big snuggly number from Primark is no exception. I love that it's a grey but has an ice blue tone to it. If I'm trying to be a little bit less 'just rolled out of bed and yes I'm wearing those tatty boots again" I always go for these pointed toe boots from DP. They're just a little bit sharper than my usual clumpy boots.

So, Christmas is pretty much over now but I am so SO pumped for New Years Eve. I hope you all had an incredible few days with family, friends and food. The most important 3 F's you'll find. I hope you all enjoyed this 3 part "What I Wore" series, it's been fun but hard work photographing outfits every day and uploading them, but I'm really happy with all the posts!

LOVE xx

WHAT I WORE | CHRISTMAS DAY + DAD'S SURPRISE

'APPY XMAS EVERYONE!
I hope you're all having an incredible day with your family, friends and pets!

In the Lenihan household, Christmas day is all about pjs, Jack Daniels and eating everything in sight.

THE LOOK

DAD'S SURPRISE
There's nothing more important to a Lenihan than music.
Without my Dad, there's no way I would've known about so many ace bands. He introduced me to ACDC and Def Leppard, which I've listened to on repeat since I was little and are without a doubt still to this day, two of my favourite bands ever. Although he loves more bands than I'll ever be able to list, Status Quo will always be his favourite.

Dad has been to so many gigs and seen so many cool bands but he never talks about them the way he does about seeing Quo at their final show in Milton Keynes on their End Of The Road tour. You know when someone talks about a band/gig and you know it means more to them than you'll be able to put into words...it's always been like that. Dad always pulls THIS video up on YouTube and point out where he was in the crowd.

SO after hours and I mean fucking hours of work, tracking down and two smashed photo frames [I am as coordinated as a blind walrus], I managed to find this news paper clipping from an actual newspaper in 1984 [it's a 30 year old piece of paper] advertising the gig. It's so rad, it has all the dates, times and support acts on it. It's so so crazy to think when I watch the videos that my Dad was in the crowd, 19 years old, with no idea he'd be listening to all his favourite bands thirty years later with his daughter.

If you don't have that one band you just love more than anything, [which really sucks for you] you probably won't understand the sentimentality behind this but I've never seen Dad speechless and it made all of the stress worth it!

UNDERDOG, JUST LOOK AT THE MESS YOU MADE

It's Friday, someone get me a drink ASAP.
Nights out with the gang always start out with the intention of being chilled but seem to end with me crawling into bed after one too many tequila shots.
I've never really been into getting overly dressed up for nights out 'cause let's face it...my make-up is usually ruined by 11pm and who's really got time for heels? I think my natural style dictates a more casual approach to nights out or maybe it's the fact that as a gang we're more likely to hit dodgy bars than clubs, so it doesn't reallllly matter.

Either way, I'm a big fan of this look.

TOPMAN's long-length tee's [heredouble up as the perfect tee shirt dress on a night out. I love that they're basic, baggy and give off that effortless look. Obviously, it's not a Gabi-look without a leather jacket and VANS...let's be real here. Oh and I chucked on my fedora...wind + my hair ends up looking like Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S and no one needs that, not at all.

I've been after a choker for quite a while now, but I wanted a cool one not a tacky plastic number. Of course I just happened to be in Topshop today and I saw this for £8.50 and I fell in love. It's got a black stone [black is best] and it's silver, what more could you want? It definitely reminds me of something Urban Outfitters would do.
