YOU'RE RIPPED AT EVERY EDGE BUT YOU'RE A MASTERPIECE

You all know I tend to go through phases where I find a look & I get obsessed with it. Today's outfit is a perfect example of this.

There are about a million variations of this outfit that I've been rotating [see one here]. Usually centred around my Topshop MOM jeans that I destroyed, it'll either be really minimal as soon in my instagram snap above or slightly more dressed up [yeah a flannel, fedora and jazzy boho chocker is 'dressed up' for me]. I've had this super relaxed flannel in my wardrobe forever and now I'm blonde
[lol jks it's yellow] I've been wearing it non-stop.

The perfect throw on and go Monday look.

WON'T YOU BE MY ELECTRIC, BABY? I WANT THIS FEELING TO STAY

"OH-EM-GEE YOU HAVE ORANGE HURRR" omg I know how tragic, that's what happens when ur stuck in the mid-stages of bleaching your hair...but TheLenihanLook must stop for no man, no bleach, no nothing.

You can currently snap up these shorts for £11.25 [HERE]

Today's look is a variation of lots of different outfits I've seen floating around. Interchanging culottes [Alex, I'm stealing your style big-time] and cigarette pants for my boy-shorts [Angus Young, I hope you're proud?], I'm semi-formal for once.
Okay, so of course I needed a laid back element - enter my sliced in half Topman tee. Throw on a leather jacket, some heeled boots and a snapback [I know I don't look half as cool in a snapback as I think I do] and you're good to go. I love the formal elements crossed with more of an urban vibe. It's one of those looks that'd also look super cool with Nike trainers and a bomber jacket.

GO ON & LIGHT A CIGARETTE, SET A FIRE IN MY HEAD

It's MOM-day. Har har, get it?

Forgot the 70's, I'm sticking the 90's.
I've been on the hunt-down for a pair of real vintage blue wash MOM jeans forever and ironically, on my first day in my new job I stumbled 'cross these, thanks Topshop [and the fate Gods]. I've got this real thing for blue denim and black clothes, so this outfit is something I'm pretty much living in.

In an attempt to jazz things up, I've whacked on some jewellery. I am obsessed with this hand/ring/chain thing [really good at describing things], it's such a statement piece but when teamed with a more laid back outfit it seems to work pretty darn well.

All in all, today we're doing laid back and there's nothing new there.

POLICE & FLASHING LIGHTS, THE RAIN CAME DOWN SO HARD THAT NIGHT

Let's face it, I can re-create ASOS covers all I like but I'm most comfortable in jeans and a leather jacket.
Today, it's all about MOM jeans and although I absolutely love the aesthetic I find them so damn hard to style. I threw this look together and it's by luck more than anything that it's worked, but I've got to admit, I took a little inspo from Alex Gaskarth's look during his stage invasion of YMAS at Reading last year [here].

It's quite a clumpy look but I love that vibe. It's got a grunge/boyish feel and that's the zone I'm most comfortable in. There are elements within this look that help to break it up and lift the initial heaviness, the plaid shirt adds texture and breaks up the outfit smack bang in the middle of the body, you've got the sheer element and cut outs of the Topshop tee and the daintiness of the layered necklace. Broken down, there's definitely A LOT going on but I'm loving it.

Oh the mane of mess [aka my hair] is back, I gave up on straightening it because it really can't be tamed.

MARQUES ALMEIDA & AN ASOS INTERPRETATION

Ever since the latest ASOS mag landed on my doorstep, I've been obsessed with this look. It's not an idea I'd usually gravitate too, but there's something effortlessly cool about it.
Lately, WhatOliviaDid has become my bible for inspiration. It blows me away how amazing Olivia's wardrobe is and one thing [amongst many] that she nails are looks built around denim skirts. So, plenty of inspo for this particular OOTD then, eh?

I discovered Marques Almeida through TOPSHOP and after looking into their brand, I've been lusting after their pieces for ages now but totally unaware of the label [eg: Kylie Jenner's ace denim shirt-dress here]. I've wanted an A Line button up skirt for a while now, so when I saw this from the Topshop collaboration, I snapped it up. I don't own any deep blue denim so this is a great investment piece for my wardrobe, I love the distressed edges and the silver hardware. Annoyingly, it's miles to big around the waist for me, so aside from this post I usually wear it a little lower on the hips but other than that it's the skirt of my dreams.

I'm planning to do another "Shoe Collection" post soon so we can drool over these sandals properly, but how gorgeous are they? Dorothy Perkins are on-pointe with their shoes at the mo.

LEATHER ME WITH YOUR LIPS

In a wild attempt to fool Van McCann into falling in love with me, I stole his style [inspo here]. That's how you get a guys attention...right? If you don't have a clue who Van McCann is and you've never heard of Catfish and The Bottleman, you're seriously missing out.

Today's look is something that's pretty darn simple but never crossed my mind. Lately I've had a serious case of the January blues and that meant I've refused to take off the slouchy black jumper and VANS. This particular look is an attempt to refresh my style, strip it down and go for something a little less complex and a lot more classic. I mean, you can't go wrong with stripes, hints of red and a leather jacket can you?

BUT THEN AGAIN, THERE'S YOU

It was bright blue skies and reasonably mild today, so maybe I'm getting a little carried away for mid-January but isn't anyone else dreaming of spring/summer?
Realistically, you'll need a big winter coat and tights with this look, but let's just pretend is June for one minute shall we? For some reason lately I am obsessed with contrasting bright blue and black at the moment. I nabbed this blue denim dress last autumn and I cannot wait to wear it all summer long, it's got that perfect tomboyish, 90s vibe that we all know I love. Roll necks are an essential this time of year and let's be real, they're perfect to wear with anything. I was super pumped to finally get a pair of Doc Marten's for crimbo, matte black of course, they're just the ultimate cool shoe right?

NEW YEARS EVE 2 WAYS

New Years Eve is the one night a year you'll see me put in any effort. The majority of 2014 has been incredible and I most definitely want to see it out in style and obviously bring 2015 in with a bang. Me, KB and Bamz are hitting town and so here are two looks, one of which I'll no doubt wake up a little worse for wear in on January 1st 2015.

- LOOK ONE -

Inspired by my ultimate girl crush, Sky Ferreira, this look out of the two is definitely the one that feels most natural and I'll probably end up in. I adore her look in the 'Everything is Embarrassing' video and the fact she embraces messy hair. I managed to bag this dress for just £5 from Primark so when it inevitably gets ruined it won't matter in the slightest. Chunky boots, with a bit of a heel but nothing too extreme, you'll never ever see me in them thin heeled numbers - I'll no doubt chuck on a load of rings, let the hair do it's thing and maybe...depending on how sober I am when it comes to lipstick application a red lip.

- LOOK TWO -

Look Two is definitely a wild card and I still can't believe that I am so in love with it. I feel like the 90s chewed me up and spat me back out, sixth Spice Girl anyone? I'm definitely a silver girl and I love the baggy, laid back vibe of the t-shirt dress but how it's also a statement piece. I'd definitely keep accessories to a minimum, letting the chocker do the talking. For someone with my style, I think this screams "IT'S NEW YEARS" but isn't painfully out of our comfort zone.

WHAT I WORE | BOXING DAY

Is that straight hair you see? Yes, yes it is! Believe me, brushing hair that hasn't been brushed in months isn't fun...at all. But after a day of hanging around in my pj's I wanted to go for something a little more sleek and less boyish than usual for Christmas round two.

I am obsessed with roll necks/turtle necks this AW and this big snuggly number from Primark is no exception. I love that it's a grey but has an ice blue tone to it. If I'm trying to be a little bit less 'just rolled out of bed and yes I'm wearing those tatty boots again" I always go for these pointed toe boots from DP. They're just a little bit sharper than my usual clumpy boots.

So, Christmas is pretty much over now but I am so SO pumped for New Years Eve. I hope you all had an incredible few days with family, friends and food. The most important 3 F's you'll find. I hope you all enjoyed this 3 part "What I Wore" series, it's been fun but hard work photographing outfits every day and uploading them, but I'm really happy with all the posts!

LOVE xx

I TRIED TO WARN YOU, EVERYTHING IS BLACK AND WHITE

Let's be real here, it's getting pretty damn cold outside but that means one thing, layering...and that's the best part of A/W right?

It's been a long time since I've hit Topshop and this sleeveless Ponte jacket [HERE] caught my eye instantly. Although I'm kinda gutted it's not in black, it's a good excuse to add some different tones into my wardrobe. I've always loved the contrast of a really tailored, sharp piece with a more laid back, grunge style. Think: Zara meets Urban Outfitters. Perfect teamed with ripped skinnys and pointed Chelsea boots, I threw on a slouchy black jumper and my leather jacket over the top. Obviously, this kind of sleeveless jacket looks rad underneath loads of different styles of coat! It's such a versatile piece you could definitely dress it up, or leave it casual as I have in this look.

& IT ALL COMES DOWN TO A SUNRISE ON THE EAST SIDE

I don't run...but I all but broke my body scrambling to get my paws on this bomber jacket.
Damn you TOPMAN.

khaki heavyweight bomber jacket - £45.00 - here - size S

I love the aesthetic of bomber jackets, they're the epitome of 'throw on and go'. I pretty much live in my leather jacket so it's cool to finally have an alternative. I've been looking for something really laid back, something simplistic with minimal hardwear and this ticks all the boxes. I'm also a massive sucker for the khaki green colour, it looks rad with black. All in all, Topman never seem to get it wrong.

The rest of the look is nothing new.
Ripped jeans, the scoop neck tee from Topshop and my chunky heeled boots from Dorothy Perkins are basically another skin. I think the bomber works perfectly with the rest of the outfit and gives it little bit of a revamp, adding some colour and a different finish to my usual leather jacket.

SLEEPLESSLY EMBRACING ME

These days it's all about grabbing a pair of jeans off your bedroom floor, chucking on a pair of boots, a slouchy tee and hoping it doesn't chuck it down with rain.

I threw this look together in desperation and I've kind of fallen in love with it. I've always loved the contrast of something really tailored and sharp, such as this insane ZARA coat, with something a little more grunge/distressed aka the jeans. It's that Urban Outfitters meets Saint Laurent clash that I can't get enough of at the moment. Obviously, any chunky boots are an essential and I can't get enough of this pair from Dorothy Perkins. We all know I'm a sucker for high necks and Topshop basics tee's are bang on at the moment. Keeping accessories simple with silver band rings, my L for Lenihan necklace, a fedora and black tote [not attempting to copy the Saint Laurent bag at all...] I thought this look is pretty simple, but effective and that's what I'm after.

DARKEN THE CITY, NIGHT IS A WIRE

Am I the only one that finds these 'from where I stand' snaps hard to take? I spent a good ten minutes on the train station platform grumbling to myself because lets face it, all those cool bloggers make it look so easy and I just couldn't get the hang of it. Anywhere, we got there in the end...kinda.

Brunette's back, back, back, back again!
It's October and for some reason, British weather is still all over the place. It's ridiculously warm by lunch time [much to my frustration, I want to wear my jumpers!!!] but freezing in the morning so outfit choices are stupidly difficult.

There are a few pieces this A/W that I'm obsessing over, one being turtle necks and the other being bottle green. I have really obvious collar bones and I'm quite concious of them so high necked pieces are something I naturally gravitate to. This bottle green crop top from Topshop is the perfect layering piece to implement colour into an outfit. We've discussed these printed Dorothy Perkins trousers before and ever since I brought them I've been wearing them non-stop. Teaming this look with my DP pointed-toe Chelsea boots [see first snap], a Topman scarf and H&M leather jacket - it's a look I'm loving.
